Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 8
The Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 8 is a specialist racer best suited to 5 km races and short-distance interval workouts. Version 8 is very different to version 7 because it now has a thicker, Lightstrike Pro midsole and EnergyRods which make it stiffer.
The Takumi Sen 8 is lighter and has a shorter stack than Adidas Adios Pro 2, and is built for 5K and 10K races rather than marathons.
Some super-shoe elements remain though, with the Takumi Sen 8 using Adidas’s bouncy Lightstrike Pro foam and embedding EnergyRods in the forefoot to provide extra propulsion to your toe-off, though these rods are thinner and more flexible than the ones used in the Adios Pro 2.
This shoe is very narrow in the midfoot, and as a result can feel pretty unstable. The lacing on adidas running shoes can also make it difficult to adjust the tension of the laces, making it difficult to get the perfect fit.
Adidas Takumi Sen 8 or Nike Vaporfly Next% 2?
The price of Adidas Takumi Sen 8 running shoes are £180, which is incredible value when compared to the Nike Vaporfly which is £40 more. Some reviewers and critics suggest that they think the Adidas Takumi Sen 8 are quicker than the Vaporfly.
Personally I do not think there is much in it and both will equally proper you to personal best and comes back to which brand you prefer the most.
What Colours Are Available?
Currently the Adidas Takumi Sen 8 is available in Black with White stripes, which Adidas calls Grey Six or a Indigo Blue with Red stripes, which Adidas calls Indigo/Turbo/Sky Rush.
Weight & Drop?
The official weight of the Adidas Takumi Sen 8 trainers is 170g but my UK size 9 weighed 202g and has 9mm drop.
