The Running Dynamics Pod from Garmin gives you the option to run without a heart rate monitor chest strap. It easily clips onto your waistband to measure the running dynamics you need to beat yesterday. Once paired with your compatible smartwatch, just clip it to the back and centre of your waistband and start your run.

View and analyse important running metrics such as your cadence, stride length, ground contact time and balance, vertical oscillation and vertical ratio with the Running Dynamics Pod from Garmin. The biomechanical measurements produced by the Running Pod can help you to better understand your running form so that you can perform better on race day.

In order to achieve this, simply clip the tiny pod to the back of your waistband at the centre before your run. The Running Dynamics Pod measures your torso movement thanks to an accelerometer that calculates 6 running metrics.

The Pod calculates your number of steps per minute (Cadence) by combining your right and left to display a total, ground contact time in milliseconds with your left/right balance during this time and stride length in meters.

It also measures the vertical motion of your torso (bounce) in centimetres for each step to calculate your vertical oscillation while running, and your vertical ratio. Vertical ratio is the comparison of your vertical oscillation and stride length to give a percentage. A lower number typically indicates a better running form.

What Devices Are Compatible?
