Runners are no strangers to nagging calf tightness, achilles flare ups or lingering back pain.
The Yoback, crafted by Eastnole, is the the recovery companion you never knew you needed.
WHO IS EASTNOLE?
Eastnole is a British based company dedicated to designing innovative tools for pain relief and functional mobility.
Their products focus on alleviating back pain, speeding up recovery, and are popular with athletes and everyday movers alike.
The company’s founder, Gary Watts, developed the Yoback after struggling with his own chronic back issues, putting three years of research into its creation.
WHAT IS THE YOBACK?
The Yoback is a three piece, modular stretching and massage device designed especially with runners in mind.
The set includes ergonomically shaped pieces, featuring a wheel and two curved supports, all made from eco-conscious materials like cork and recyclable plastic.
Unlike regular foam rollers, the Yoback targets key trouble spots for runners—calves, feet, lower back, spine, and hips—using deep, targeted pressure.
It’s lightweight, portable, and strong enough to withstand intense, regular use (lab tested to support over 250 kg), making it a trustworthy addition to any runner’s gear.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Yoback is ideal for runners of all levels, whether you're a recreational jogger or training for your next marathon or simply dealing with recurring issues like calf tightness, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, or lower back pain.
It's particularly useful for those seeking a compact yet durable alternative to bulky foam rollers or massage tools, and for anyone looking to improve flexibility, restore functional movement, and speed up recovery between sessions.
If you regularly deal with post run stiffness, or want to protect your joints and muscles from long-term strain, the Yoback offers a thoughtful and effective solution that fits seamlessly into your warm up or recovery routine.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
These are my 3 favourite Yoback exercises:
1 - CALF STRETCH & CALF RAISES

The Yoback delivers what many runners find elusive, a proper calf stretch.
I previously used the CalfPro calf stretcher to get the same stretch but the device was massive, took up so much space and you had to used it in the doorway frame.
Simply use the Yoback's ergonomic arch to stretch your calf or stand on the curved piece for calf raises, effectively isolating the calf muscles and Achilles tendon while preventing strain and aiding injury recovery.
The cork mat ensures a non-slip, grippy base even when your feet are sweaty.
I use the Yoback mostly for the calf stretch as it is so good.
2 - SPINE ROLLLING
Place the wheel under your thoracic spine, lean back, and gently roll to relieve tension between the shoulder blades and along the back.
This stimulates blood flow, loosens tight muscles, and is excellent for post run back stiffness or when you have been sat at your desk all day.
3 - LEG STRENGTHENING
Use two Yoback pieces for bodyweight squats with your heels elevated, which trains the vastus medialis oblique (VMO) muscle.
This approach helps strengthen your legs, helping ward off runner’s knee and supporting stable form during mileage build ups.
OVER 50 EXERCISES
There is so much more you can do with the Yoback, with over 50 exercises, plus support through guides and tutorials, the Yoback is a worthy investment to keep you running strong and (finally!)
COST
The full Yoback costs £89.99, but you can buy the lite edition if you just want it for calf stretches that costs £64.99.
