WHO IS 33FUEL?

33Fuel is a UK based company founded in 2012 that specialises in natural, plant based sports nutrition products designed to enhance athletic performance, promote health, and support long-term well-being. 

Their philosophy called "Fuelosophy" emphasises the use of real food ingredients rather than ultra-processed components common in mainstream sports nutrition.

33Fuel’s product range includes items like carb drinks, protein powders, and bars, all crafted to provide effective nutrition without sacrificing taste or quality. The company has served thousands of customers in over 30 countries, including elite athletes, and is based in Bath, England.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

There’s a lot to like before you even open the pouch. This is a UK company doing things their own way. Natural ingredients, eco conscious packaging, and no plastic scoop in sight.

Its vegan friendly, gluten and dairy free. It also provides electrolytes and micronutrients like vitamin C, calcium, magnesium and iron .

It’s a blend of brown cane sugar, organic fruit powders (pineapple, lemon, baobab). No artificial stuff, no sickly sweet flavour, just real food designed to fuel endurance.

TASTE

The taste is a very mild, citrusy, natural one, and nowhere near as sweet as something like Tailwind or Maurten.

If you’re used to commercial, processed carb mixes, this will feel much more subtle. I didn’t find it particularly exciting, but I didn’t dread drinking it either.

REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE

I have used it to fuel a 5 hour training run and it did exactly what it promised. I got through 4 soft flasks of Rocket Fuel during this session (plus some other forms of fuelling) and the best compliment I can give Rocket Fuel is that the energy delivery was a non event.

It’s explicitly designed to avoid “bonking” with low GI sugars and smooth energy release, claiming no GI issues due to the natural ingredients and it did exactly this.

I got to the end of the session with no stomach discomfort or heavy crash.

MIX

I mixed a serving into 500ml of water pre run, shook well, left it a minute and did notice some of the powder settling to the bottom. You can actually see it moving slowly downward if you leave it for a bit.

This is likely due to the use of natural ingredients, apposed to the more processed ingredients in other mixes.

Once you’re moving whether running, riding, or just walking with the bottle it stays well mixed. No issue mid run, nor did it affect the taste / texture when drunk.
