I’m Vicky. I’ve been running regularly for around 7 years, although only competitively for around 4. I’m nearing the end of my marathon training block for Lisbon marathon where I hope to run sub 3 hours. Marathons are by my favourite distance and the distance which gives me the most satisfaction.

I am reviewing the Bob and Brad T2 Pro Massage Gun, including a heat and cold head.
DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY
The gun has an ergonomic design that fits well in your hand, allowing you to reach different muscle groups. It has a silicone handle which helps provide a comfortable grip and is meant to reduce vibrations for easier use.
However, during longer sessions, I noticed that some vibrations transferred to my hand, which can be uncomfortable, especially at higher intensities.
One area for improvement is the power indication. The gun starts vibrating as soon as you press the power button, without a separate light indicator. An LED indicator to signal when the gun is on and a gradual power increase feature would, in my opinion, had been better.
I do however really like how quiet it is, with noise levels as low as 45 dB. This makes it suitable for use in quieter settings, such as at home with others or at the gym, without causing must of a disturbance.
It is lightweight, 1.9lbs, making it easy to maneuver in line with daily life. It’ll fit perfectly into my luggage for my upcoming marathon in Lisbon!
PERFORMANCE
The T2 Pro massage gun offers five adjustable speeds ranging from 2000 to 3200 RPM, providing options for different recovery needs. With a 10mm amplitude and over 40 lbs of force, it provides a deep muscle massage.
For me, the 3rd setting was generally powerful enough. After particularly hard runs, the 1st level provided adequate relief. I've previously used the Theragun and found the T2 Pro comparable in terms of performance but at a more budget-friendly price.

The five attachments target specific muscle groups and provide varied massage therapy.
- Air Cushioned Head: Ideal for relaxation of sensitive body parts, great for sore calves.
- Ball Head: Best for large muscle groups.
- Bullet Head: Designed for deep tissue and trigger points.
- U-Shaped Head: Suitable for the spine, neck, and shoulders.
- Heat and Cold Head: Offers adjustable temperature for targeted therapy.
I particularly enjoyed using the ball head, as it glides smoothly over the entire body, making it an excellent starting point for a massage session.
What should be noted regarding the attachments is that if you don’t really push them into the gun they can full off quite easily.
HEATED ATTACHMENT
Something I love about this massage gun is the hot and cold therapy head, which I initially thought might be more of a gimmick.
However, I was surprised by its effectiveness. The hot and cold settings are genuinely noticeable, with the green LED indicating 50°F for cold therapy and the blue LED 59°F.
For heat, the orange LED provides 104°F, while the red gives 113°F. This feature is great for muscle recovery, allowing you to switch between heat and cold to suit.
Switching between temperatures does require stopping the massage, which can interrupt the flow of use (unless you can learn your change it when the gun is vibrating like crazy).
CARRY CASE
The carrying case is sturdy and well-built, featuring a canvas design that makes it feel of high quality. It's great for on-the-go use and ensures safe storage at home.
My OCD loves that there’s set places for all the attachments for better storage and to prevent them from falling out the case as soon as you open it up.
BENEFITS FOR RUNNERS

The massage gun has a 4000mAh automotive-grade battery, offering longevity and safety. It has a Type-C fast charging port which is great for on-the-go use, with a full charge taking around 2 hours.
In my experience, one charge lasted for around 2 weeks, albeit some use ages were only for around 10-minute, reducing the hassle of frequent charging.
CONCLUSION
Having the T2 Pro Massage Gun in my post-training routine has definitely aided my recovery and ability to hit higher miles and intensity. Its offer a strong massage, has a variety of attachments, and a quiet operation, making it a great for various body aches, regardless to where you are or what time of the day it is.
Although it has minor drawbacks, like the vibrations felt in the hand during use and the occasional issue with head attachments, I think it offers good value for its price and believe it’s an essential item in all runners tool bag.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THE T2 PRO?
Yes, I would recommend the T2 Pro massage gun for runners and fitness fanatics looking for an affordable yet powerful recovery tool.
It offers a strong massage, versatility, and portability, making it a valuable asset for post-run recovery and overall muscle maintenance.
