The Hoka Restore TC is designed as the ultimate recovery shoe.
With a comfortable, stretchy, breathable sock-like knit upper and deep cushioning, it is ideal for short walks, running errands, and casual wear.
This shoe is perfect for those looking for comfort and support during recovery periods.
Read on to find out why.
THE HEEL
The heel design of the Hoka Restore TC balances comfort, security, and ease of use, making it well-suited for its intended purpose as a recovery shoe.
One of the reasons this recovery shoe appealed to me was the heel to support my achilles, which was lacking in other recovery shoes like the OOFOS sliders that were inflaming my achilles when wearing them.
While you can't simply "walk into" the shoes, the heel design, including the pronounced wing-like shape, facilitates easy slipping on and off of the shoe. This feature is especially beneficial for a recovery shoe meant for lounging and post-workout comfort.
THE UPPERS
The Hoka Restore TC features a high-quality, stretchy, and breathable knit mesh upper designed for comfort and security.
The slip-on design, with engineered stretch zones and a barefoot-friendly full-knit sock, ensures ease of use and a snug fit.
THE OUTSOLE
The Hoka Restore TC features an outsole made of 20% sugarcane-derived EVA, which aligns with the brand's sustainability efforts.
Interestingly, the Restore TC lacks a traditional rubber outsole, instead relying on the foam construction for ground contact, which may limit its use to less abrasive surfaces to ensure longevity.
I have read some reviews complaining about the durability but I have not had this problem.
THE MIDSOLE
The midsole of the Restore TC is unique, featuring a sugarcane EVA insole atop a sugarcane outsole.
This design provides a firm yet supportive cushioning, which is appreciated during long periods of standing as it reduces foot fatigue. The firmness also contributes to the shoe's durability, ensuring it lasts longer without breaking down.
The Restore TC is particularly comfortable for wearing around the house or standing for extended periods, making it an excellent choice for those recovering from conditions like plantar fasciitis.

CONCLUSION
The Hoka Restore TC is a brilliant recovery shoe that offers exceptional comfort and cushioning for those seeking respite after intense workouts or long days on your feet.
With its stretchy knit upper, slip-on design, and generous midsole, this shoe provides a plush yet supportive feel, making it ideal for lounging about the house or running quick errands.
The sizing is a little weird as they only offer half sizes. I am usually a size 9. The 8 and 1/2 which is what the Hoka software suggested was to small but the 9 and 1/2 was perfect.
Whilst the sizing may require a bit of trial and error, the Restore TC's durability, breathability, and eco-friendly materials make it a top-notch choice for anyone in need of a cosy, reliable recovery footwear option.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM?
Yes. I previously wore the OOFOS sliders but get on much better with the Hoka Restore TC shoes.
