I am a Mum of two children and returning to running after a long break. I am training for the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2025.

I am raising money and awareness for Down Syndrome UK in honour of our youngest daughter, Ivy, who has Down Syndrome.

NIKE PEGASUS TURBO NEXT NATURE

As a busy Mum of two and a PE teacher, finding the right pair of trainers is a challenge! I decided to give the Pegasus Turbo Next Nature a go and I’m really pleased to share my findings here.

I haven’t bought running trainers for over 6 years and designs have changed a lot since then!

These shoes looked modern and sleek and I thought I’d give them a try.

THE HEEL

The heel of these trainers feel really comfortable and are snug around my achilles.  I have experienced no rubbing or blisters and this has been a great relief.

The cushioning at the heel has helped cushion my landing and reduce the impact on my knees. The ZoomX foam really does its job, providing that nice bounce and energy return with every step.

THE OUTSOLE

I have been pleasantly surprised by how good the grip is and I have trailed the trainers on pavements and on muddy grass.

I feel they are more suited to harder surfaces as they don’t have deep grips but they did enough to stop me sliding around on mud.

THE MIDSOLE

The midsole has a sleek modern design and I love the colour. The breathable mesh upper keeps my feet cool when running. The only downside is the flexible material means my foot does move around more than I would like.

This is due to me having quite narrow feet and the front of the trainer is quite roomy. The laces are a bit long but manageable and I can tighten the shoe to comfortably support my foot while running.

HOW MUCH DO THEY WEIGH?

These trainers are surprisingly lightweight, which I love. This definitely helps towards the end of my run and helps reduce fatigue. I can’t find out how much they weigh?

HOW DO THE FIT?

These trainers are really comfortable and a good size. I would say true to size. I did go up half a size to ensure I had room over the longer distances once my mileage builds up. As mentioned, I find the front of the trainer a bit too wide for my foot.

COST

They originally cost £144.99 but you can currently find them online in limited sizes for half that cost.

I do think these trainers give good value for money and I am anticipating them lasting well into my half marathon training.

CONCLUSION

Overall, the Nike Pegasus Turbo Nature has been a fantastic addition to my footwear collection.

They’re comfortable, stylish, and perform beautifully, making them ideal for any active mum. Whether you're running errands or hitting the pavement, these trainers have got you covered. Highly recommended!
