My name is Vicky, I am an avid runner and co-run an Instagram account with my close friend Justine (@girlsreallyrun).
The shorts are the perfect mix of performance, comfort, and style. I feel they’re designed with female runners in mind.
They’re great for a training run or race day, particularly marathons in my opinion.
FEATURES
- Handmade in East London using eco-friendly, renewable energy
- Sculpting fabric sourced from Italy, offering 4-way stretch and shape retention.
- Breathable, moisture-wicking and quick-drying which is great for longer runs.
- Lightweight and soft to touch.
- High-rise waistband for a secure fit that stays in place. Some shorts can make my waist feel quite bulky, but these sat nicely.
- Deep side pockets that easily fit your phone, keys, and gels without adding side bulk. This is a MUST for me. I actively avoid shorts without pockets. I was able to fit two gels in each pocket.
- OEKO-TEX 100 Certified for non-toxic, sustainable production
SIZING & FIT:
I’m typically a UK size 8 in running clothes and I chose a size small (UK 10) for a slightly looser fit as I worried the XS might be too snug.
As a result, the size small turned out a bit roomy around my thighs, causing the shorts to rise slightly during runs.
For a perfect fit, I’d recommend going with your true size as stated on the website for accurate measurements.
Usual Objections offers a 30-day guarantee for returns, so if you’re not satisfied, you can easily send them back. Personally, I love the sustainability and that they’re handmade, so I kept them despite the minor sizing issue. Plus, I know I’ll still get plenty of use out of them!
MATERIAL
- 59% Nylon, 41% Elastane
- Machine washable (cold wash, no tumble dry). I accidentally washed them on 40 degrees and luckily, they were ok.
- Plastic-free, eco-friendly packaging
- Made with renewable energy, with all off cuts recycled
PRICE
At £70, these shorts aren’t cheap, but when you consider the fit, storage and the high-quality, eco-friendly materials, I do think they’re worth it.
They eliminate the need for bulky running belts and feel very comfortable, even on longer runs. I personally think they would be a great marathon short.
CONCLUSION
These shorts provide the ideal balance of lightness, comfort, and storage. Whether you use them for short training sessions, marathon distances or for your daily workouts I think they deliver in both performance and style.
I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a versatile, eco-friendly pair of shorts that are durable.
