Finding Old Deer Park
Old Deer Park parkrun in Richmond is relatively easy to find via public transport or walking.
The nearest train station is Richmond. Upon exiting the station, turn right and walk approximately 150 meters to the Richmond roundabout, then take the second exit across the dual carriageway onto Kew Road, following the signs for Kew Gardens.
The entrance to Old Deer Park will be on your left after about half a mile.
Alternatively, bus route 65 also stops near the park, providing another convenient option for access.
There is no parking at this venue but there is plenty of parking available across the road (A316) from the Pools in the park.
Course
The course is relatively flat, making it accessible for runners of all abilities, from seasoned athletes to first-timers.
The route is all on grass, but there is a long tarmac path you can run on if you want to avoid the grass on one side of the route.
A simple, three lap course. There is very little undulation but these are very gentle. The start is closest to the A316 and the Pools in the Park.
Toilet
There are no toilets at the start or finish area but there are toilets in the Pools in the Park.
Coffee
The post parkrun coffee and cake is at Austins on the Park (the cafe in the Pools in the Park facility).
Cost
The cost of parkrun is FREE. You just need to register and take your barcode to register your time.

Would I Do It Again?
Overall, Old Deer park parkrun is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to participate in a parkrun.

This is not expected to be a personal record course, except during the summer when the ground is firm. Nevertheless, Old Deer park parkrun offers a delightful opportunity for a casual run and guarantees a memorable experience.
Things To Bear In Mind
- Dogs: Dogs are not allowed at this parkrun.
- Course: It is predominately on grass. I did wear my Alphaflys but was slippy in places and a bit more rain it would of been more like cross country.
- Parking: You can cannot park at the venue. You need to park over the road.
