Sudbury Friday 5 Mile Series Review

The Bob French Sudbury Friday 5 mile race is part of the 6 race Friday 5 Series that also includes races in Felixstowe, Framlingham, Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Great Bentley.

Course

I should have done some homework and checked out the course before I ran because for some reason I thought it was flat, I went off like a bull in a china shop hoping for a fast time and it was anything but flat!...

This is a tough undulating course but it does have some down hill sections to get some speed back but don't expect personal bests on this course.

The first section is slightly deceiving as it is flat and fast until at 1.5 miles you turn left in to Kedington Hill, which feels like it increases in elevation for the best part of a mile!

The undulation continues until mile 3 and then levels out for the rest of the race with only some minor dips.

It is a lovely well supported course, just don't expect it to be fast unless you are suited to tough undulating courses.

Medal

There is a Sudbury Joggers medal that doubles up as a bottle opener!

Parking

There is plenty of parking with a overflow car park on the field of the sports centre.

Toilets

Toilets are in the Sports Centre and do get busy in the minutes before the race so get your toilet stop completed on arrival.
