After Myomaster appeared on Dragon's Den looking for investment, The MyoIce ice bath has made quite a splash in the world of recovery tools, and I was eager to put it through its paces.
As a keen runner always on the lookout for ways to enhance my post-workout routine, I was intrigued by the promises of this portable cold therapy solution.
Myomaster MyoIce at a Glance
- Who it is for: Runners and athletes looking for a high quality, spacious portable ice bath that won't look cheap or flimsy in their garden.
- The Fit: Exceptionally accommodating. Unlike taller, narrower competitor tubs, the MyoIce is wider (75cm) and slightly shorter. This makes it much easier to step in and out of while comfortably fitting runners up to 6 foot 9 inches.
- The Verdict: It is the best portable ice bath we have tested to date. The matte black finish looks incredibly sleek, and the 5 layer ThermoPolymerTech does a fantastic job of holding the cold. If you want to take cold therapy seriously without spending thousands, this is the tub to buy.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The advanced design features Myomasters' exclusive ThermoPolymerTech™ for optimal insulation, ensuring cold temperatures are maintained.
Its five-layer ThermoPolymerTech insulation does a cracking job of keeping the water cold. I was impressed by how long it maintained the temperature, even on a warm day.
SIZE OPTIONS

Myomaster ice baths have one size fits all, but what sets them apart is their ample sizing.
They are slightly wider than other ice baths, providing plenty of room for taller individuals, up to 6 foot 9.
Additionally, they are slightly shorter, making stepping in and out easier.
I'm 6 feet tall, and I found it spacious enough not to feel cramped. The inflatable rim providing a comfortable place to rest your head or arms while you endure the chill.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE MYOMASTER ICE BATH?

The Myomaster Ice Bath includes:
- 1 x Myomaster Myoice ice bath.
- 1 x Myomaster internal thermo lid.
- 1 x Myomaster external lid cover
- 6 x Support stands.
- 1 x Extra fast air pump.
- 1 x Drain hose.
- 1 x Hosepipe connector
- 1 x Drawstring carry bag
- 1 x Manual.
Upon unboxing the box it arrived in, I was immediately struck by the sleek black exterior of the MyoIce.
The matt black colour looks really smart and wouldn't look out of place in your garden.
The build quality appears robust, with skin-safe PVC lining and multiple layers of insulation.
SETTING UP YOUR ICE BATH
Setting up the Myoice is really easy, and the valve makes emptying simple.
Here are a few steps to get you started.
SUPPORT STANDS

Prepare your ice bath by unfolding it and flipping it over. Place the 6 support stands in the slots to provide structure.
INFLATABLE RING

Insert the first valve before inflating the ring. Pump air into the top ring using the hand pump provided. Ensure to pump into the first valve with a non-return valve to prevent air leakage.
DRAINAGE HOSE

Position the rubber seals prior to connecting the valve and ensure the valve is closed before connecting. Attach the hose connector to the valve.
FILL IT UP

Pour clean cold water into your ice bath until it reaches approximately 20cm from the top, which is just over halfway full. This process typically takes around 15 minutes to complete. Upon submerging yourself, the water level will rise to the top.
I added one 5kg bag of ice but you may want to add more if you want it colder.
THERMAL LID

The MyoIce comes with a internal thermal lid that will help to keep the cold in and help regulate the temperature.
This is probably more useful for those looking to take their ice bath game to the next level with the compatible MyoChill unit, allowing for precise temperature control
SECURE WITH LID

Once done with the ice bath, cover with the lid and secure using the draw strings to maintain the water cleanliness.
DRAWSTRING STORAGE BAG

Another feature that really impressed me was the large drawstring bag. It easily stores your ice bath and extras for travel or storage.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the Myomaster Ice Bath big enough for tall runners? Yes. Unlike many narrow competitor tubs, the MyoIce features a very spacious 75cm width. This allows runners up to 6 foot 9 inches to comfortably sit inside without feeling cramped, while the slightly shorter height makes stepping over the rim much easier.
How do you keep the Myomaster ice bath cold? The tub itself features 5-layer ThermoPolymerTech insulation to lock in cold temperatures. However, because it is a portable tub, you must manually add bags of ice (typically one or two 5kg bags) to achieve the optimal 10-15°C cold therapy range. You then use the included thermal lid to lock the cold in between sessions.
Can I connect a water chiller to the Myomaster MyoIce? Yes! If you want to upgrade your setup later, the standard MyoIce is fully compatible with the Myomaster MyoChill unit, allowing you to automate precise temperature control without buying ice bags.
How much is the Myomaster Ice Bath? The Myomaster Myoice ice bath costs £65. This is currently reduced from £129.
