WHO IS HYPERICE?

Hyperice is an American health technology company founded in 2010. They specialise in designing and manufacturing recovery and movement enhancement products.

The company has a history of innovation, starting with ice-compression wraps and expanding into various recovery technologies.

In 2020, Hyperice acquired Normatec, further solidifying their position in the recovery market.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

whats inside normatec premier box

The Normatec Premier compression boots includes in the box:

  • Two leg attachments with built in control units
  • A power supply for charging
  • A drawstring bag for storage and transport

DRAWSTRING BAG

Other compression boots we have reviewed have come with backpacks.

Initially I thought it was a bit of cheaper way to produce a storage bag, but to be honest it has been a bit easier to store the boots this way, mainly because you do not have to store a compressor unit either.

THE WIRELESS OPERATING UNIT

The most significant improvement in the Normatec Premier Elite is the elimination of the bulky external control unit and hoses.

Instead, the air compressor is integrated into the boots themselves, with slim control units attached to the outer thigh of each boot.

This design allows users to easily adjust compression levels, time, and ZoneBoost settings directly on the boots.

This is the real game changer compared to other boots as you do not have wires getting in the way.

APP

The Normatec Premier Elite connects via Bluetooth to the Hyperice App, offering additional customisation options.

It is really easy to adjust pressure levels, treatment duration, and even receive personalised recovery recommendations based on data from your Apple Health, Strava, or Garmin.

This is something that other compression boots do not offer.

BATTERY LIFE & CHARGING

normatec premier battery

These boots boast an impressive battery life of up to 4 hours, which is a 33% increase from previous models.

They utilise a universal USB-C charging system, eliminating the need for separate chargers.

You simply plug it into the batteries and leave it to charge.

SIZING

The Normatec Premier Elite is available in three sizes:

  • Standard: Suitable for individuals 5'4" to 6'3" (162.5 cm to 190.5 cm)
  • Short: For those under 5'3" (160 cm)
  • Long: For users over 6'3" (192 cm)

PRESSURE CHAMBERS

The boots feature Hyperice's patented pulse technology, with seven adjustable compression levels.

The system uses HyperSync technology to synchronise compression between both legs, ensuring a symmetrical massage experience.

WEIGHT

Each boot weighs approximately 1.45kg, making them slightly heavier when you compare them to the boots with external compressors but the pay off being they are more portable, making it worth it.

COST

The Normatec Premier Elite is a premium product with a price tag to match.

It's positioned at the higher end of the market, retailing at £999.

PROS & CONS

Pros Cons
100% Wireless: No external hoses or control boxes, giving you complete freedom of movement. Very Expensive: At roughly £900, this is one of the most premium recovery investments you can make.
Massive Battery: The universal USB-C rechargeable batteries easily last for up to 4 hours. Slightly Lower Max Pressure: Not quite as aggressively powerful as elite tethered models like MyoMaster.
Smart Integration: The Bluetooth app syncs directly with Garmin and Strava to suggest tailored recovery routines. Basic Storage: Comes with a simple drawstring bag rather than a premium carrying case/backpack.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are the Normatec Premier Elite boots completely wireless? Yes. Unlike older generations or competitors that require external hoses and a large control box, the Normatec Premier integrates the air compressor directly onto the outer thigh of each boot. This means no wires, no hoses, and ultimate portability.

How do you charge the Normatec Premier boots? They feature a highly convenient universal USB-C charging system. You simply plug the cables directly into the batteries located on the control units of the boots. A full charge will yield up to 4 hours of use.

Are they as powerful as tethered compression boots? While they deliver fantastic, targeted recovery using 7 adjustable compression levels and ZoneBoost technology, they are slightly less powerful than top-tier tethered models (like the MyoMaster). However, the trade off for zero wires and total convenience makes them superior for daily usability.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM?

Yes I would recommend the Normatec Premier compression boots. They are a fantastic compression boot that really helps with your recovery and I feel like I recover faster when I use them.

The wireless option for me makes them a game changer in recovery market. They are not quite as powerful as the Myomaster compression boots but this is a compromise I am willing to make as it is so much easier to use them.

CONCLUSION

wearing normatec elite

The Normatec Premier Elite wireless compression boots represent a significant advancement in recovery technology.

Their cordless design, improved portability, and enhanced features make them an attractive option for serious athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

While the price point may be prohibitive for some, those who prioritise recovery and can justify the investment will likely find value in these cutting-edge boots.

The combination of convenience, customisation, and proven compression therapy technology makes the Normatec Premier Elite a compelling choice for those seeking to optimise their recovery process.
