Discover our in depth review of the goodr Bolt G sunglasses, perfect for runners and outdoor enthusiasts.

Featuring a no slip grip, polarised UV400 lenses, and a ventilated wrap design for ultimate comfort and glare protection during high intensity workouts.

WHO IS GOODR?

goodr is a brand known for making affordable, fun, and functional sunglasses specifically with runners and outdoor enthusiasts in mind.

Their products are famed for their no slip, no bounce design, and a wide range of vibrant colours and styles. goodr’s mission is to make high quality sunglasses accessible to everyone, without sacrificing performance or personality.

WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF

The goodr Bolt G's are built from a lightweight plastic that feels solid without ever feeling heavy.

The arms are flexible with a grippy bit on the ends that keeps them planted even on sweaty runs.

For the price they are impressively well put together and feel really durable.

SHAPE AND FIT

goodr bolt g sunglasses shape and fit

The Bolt G shape is an angular, performance style frame with a more aggressive, wraparound fit than the classic goodr OGs.

They sit snugly on the face, giving decent coverage without feeling claustrophobic, I’ve worn wraparound styles glasses before that have been so close that my eyelashes rubbed the lenses, these are spot on fit wise and also have adjustable nose piece to really dial that in, although mine were great out the box.

I’ve worn them on long road runs, trail runs and club track sessions. No bounce, no sliding, and no rubbing.

The close fit and lense shape helps block out wind and light from awkward angles.

PRICE

At £40, the Bolt G's are in a different league to something like Oakley Radar EVs or SunGod, but that’s not to say they feel cheap.

For me, they’ve become a throw on and go option that I don’t have to stress about, if I leave them in the club house or drop them on the trail they are replaceable without dropping £200.

They’re not aiming to compete with the high end brands on materials, but they punch well above their weight for performance.

UV PROTECTION

goodr bolt g sunglasses side view

All Goodr glasses come with 100% UV400 protection, which blocks both UVA and UVB rays.

I’ve worn them on country lanes with sporadic tree cover and track loops and never had any issues with glare, squinting, or eye fatigue.

They do the job without fuss, which is exactly what I want from a running lens.

POLARISED LENSES

Yes, they’re polarised and while that’s increasingly common even in budget sunglasses, it’s still a nice touch at this price.

The lenses cut glare well, particularly on bright road runs where reflection can be a problem.

PROS

  • Extremely lightweight
  • Lens colour is spot on
  • No bounce or slipping at any pace
  • At this price, they’re practically guilt free to replace if lost or broken

CONS

  • Honestly struggling to think of any
